You might already know, but I will return to a student life next year, my application has been completed and student life start about a couple of weeks. I posted some pictures on Facebook (If you want to follow me there, click here) and I got some requests for a sort of home tour. Well, the room measures only 12 square meters across so I think 'Room tour' will be a better name ;-) besides that the room isn't done already, but because of the quietness of last months, I will compensate that with some tips & tricks I used last months.
I am really into the vintage things and I visited several vintage stores for pretty accesoiries to get a mix of mainstream Ikea stuff and the vintage part I already had.
Tips & Tricks
Sounds like a pro but don't take it that serious, I am enthusiastic and I was searching for inspiration like a maniac.
* MEASURE EVERYTHING! Make a floor plan of your room, it makes the 'Furnish a room on distance' - part much easier. I bought most of the things online and saw it for the first time in my room, because it is just too much for me to move it all by myself. So I measured everything: walls, doorways, windows. It is too sad if you bought a desk that doesn't fit in your room.
* Don't choose for one or two colours in your interior, just don't make it that hard for yourself to search for things in the specific colour you've chosen. I think a mix of colours will bring (how ironic) more peace in a room than two colors and there's a shirt hanging there which you can't hide but looks awful with the rest of your room because it's yellow.

* Just go to Pinterest and search for 'Ikea hacks ...' followed by the describing thing you are searching for, like 'Ikea hacks storage' or something like that.
First thing I saw was this double desk Ikea hack, more than easy and so pretty. For example this is a 'Glasholm' table top with 'Lerberg' table legs and a small locker in the middle of the two table tops.
You can also search for 'Life hacks' in general, you will find a lot of simple but very useful things to make a small room look bigger.

* The vintage stores are one of my favorites, not only the local ones but also online. For example (these are Dutch, besides Etsy):
- RetroLoekie
- MyExBoyfriend
- VintageRevival
- Meutt
- Route53
- April and August
- Etsy
My vintage school world map is from Route53, one of the vintage cameras is from RetroLoekie (the other one is from Cambridge) and the camera posters are from Easy. Poster snaps are from FeelsRight but this shop will stop in a couple of weeks (sad enough).
* THINK, what can I use? Do you drink tea throughout the whole day? Then you can buy a kettle. Do you like smoothies? Than you can buy a mixer. But don't buy things normal people have when they move out while you just don't use it. For example I don't watch TV (proudly says a person who spend more hours on the internet), so I won't buy a TV.
In now and a couple of weeks you will get the result with better pictures, so stay tuned :-)

Ik vind je inrichting/stijl echt fantastisch! I love it! Ik huur je in wanneer ik mijn eigen huisje heb.
