Daily Life | #IHaveThisThingWithCars

PRETTY AUGUST

I can be really fascinated by oldtimers, the classic Fiat 500 can't being left behind without taking a look on the inside. Got this crazy thing from my dad I guess, he was a car mechanic in the early days of his career and still have a dream to own one of this pretty cars.

A couple of weeks ago I went to an Oldtimers' Day with a little folkrock band  and some good food. Had a really enjoyable day and I made some pictures!

Daily Life | Student-room tour

EARLY AUGUST

As you've may seen last post about the 'Student-life in progress' - click here, I will move out next month. I quit my job as a pharmacist's assistant, completed my application for my next study and started the quest for a student room. On top of all the lucky moments I already had, that all was completed in just one week!(!!!!) Couldn't be any better.

If that all was done, the best thing was started: furnish the room. Oh yeah. Pinterest was one of my most visited pages which you could already read in my last post. Also Instagram was a big part of my inspiration, I mean, all those crazy hashtags people use these days are very useful for something like this.

And now it is time for the results! I will show you my room and let you know where the stuff is coming from and a little summary of the shops.

Be warned: don't be intimidated by the word 'Ikea' which you will read in every possible sentence.
Oh! And the pink colored words are clickable.

Oh, before I get some messages about it (again) that I am a spoiled girl:
I've been working all year between these two studies, I know it is unusual to start with a room like this as a student.

Interior | Vintage gifts

(My lovely vintage cameras are definitely my favorites, left one is from Retroloekie.nl, middle one is from Birmingham and the right one is from AprilandAugust.nl)

To make your room a bit more personal you can add some vintage stuff into interior. And because I looovvvve vintage I couldn't resist it to buy some things at the thrift stores and I got some things from my grandparents.

I bought this vintage suitcase a few years ago at a thrift store, now I use it as a case for socks and underwear

Gift from my grandparens

Than the lovely vintage cans, most of it I got from my grandparents. I use it for jewelry, keys and all that kind of stuff.

Interior | Ikea-hack double desk

LAST DAYS OF JULY

Drinking a lot of cocktails and eating ice creams all day long; it's summer and I really enjoy these days. But I am not only busy with laying down and getting a sun kissed tan, I am also busy with my student room and the whole move-out part.

As you've may seen in the previous posts about the 'Student-life in progress' video - click here and the sneak peak of last week, I will move out next month. Before I will show you my whole room about a couple of weeks, I want to focus on one thing: my desk. I will tell you where the stuff is coming from and about the thing called 'Ikea Hack', because I got so many questions about it!

Before I was thinking about this desk, I measured everything of the room (really important!). It's too sad when you bought something which doesn't fit.

Oh! And the pink colored words are clickable.

DOUBLE DESK IKEA HACK
I got this inspiration from Pinterest. It's so perfect, t fits exactly and it saves space for other things like my clothes rack on the left (from Ikea called Rigga).

Two Ikea table tops called Glassholm
Two Ikea table legs called Lerberg
A drawer unit in the middle, Ikea called Alex
Lamp from ikea called Forsa

Others:
Schoolmap from Route53
Two book holders from Hema
Placemats & letter banner from Xenos
Radio is from my parents
Two chairs are from Te Leuk Hout
Candlestick is from V&D
Carpet is from Home24

IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
secretly i didn't knew that the table tops were a bit bluish when they arrived, but it fits perfect with my school map, so now I say that it was all on purpose ;-)
But be prepared: if you choose the 'Glasholm' table top in "white", it's not even a little bit white.

Also the table legs were not intended for these table tops, apparently. A bit frustrated because Ikea doesn't say anything about it in the shop. But I solved it with a rubber mat on the drawer unit and double sided tape on the table legs.

There is a Pinterest board which you can follow here for all pictures and inspiration: Click here
